No greater service is given to a community then by having a well equipped and well trained fire department. The Margaretta Fire Department takes this responsibility seriously and we expect a great deal from our members. The demands of becoming a Firefighter / EMT, and keeping your skills sharp are intense. Listed below are the training requirements for our department

     All members must obtain their basic fire training within one year of appointment to the department.

     All new recruits are issued an orientation booklet and given three months to complete the goals and objectives prior to being allow to respond on calls.

     All members must complete the required EMS training prior to being allowed to function in the ambulance.

    Each member must complete 40 hours of Fire, Rescue and Hazardous Materials training annually.

     Each member must attend enough EMS Continuing Education to recertify every three years at their required level. Margaretta Twp. Fire Department is a State Certified site for continuing education.

     On top of the above requirements members are trained in various Technical Rescue courses and encouraged to attend State and Regional seminars and schools.

      Only by having well equipped and well trained members can we provide the excellent level of service that you deserve.

Paid-on Call members are paid $10.50 / Hr. for all in-service training required by the department.
