Margaretta Firefighters’ Association

Fund raisers, Memorials and Donations

The Margaretta Firefighters’ Association has three fund raising events. Our annual Pancake Breakfast in May, our annual Chicken B-B-Q the last Sunday of July and a Monthly 50/50 Raffle. We generate approximately $10,000.00 per year with these events. Along with the funds generated from these events we also have been blessed with great community support in donations and Memorials.

All of the money received is placed in the Special Account Fund. This fund is used entirely for the purchase of EMS and Fire equipment. A Finance Committee reviews ideas presented to the Association.

Equipment must meet one or more of three areas to be considered. Equipment purchased must:
    1. Improve the efficiency and/or level of the service
    2. Improve the safety of our members and of the public
    3. Reduce the physical demands  placed on firefighters by making a task easier to perform.

Once an item is reviewed it is then voted on by the Association with a majority required for passage. All purchased items are then donated to the Township and the Township then maintains that equipment.

Listed below is a list of equipment that the Association has purchased since 1977. The total to date is over $394,640.00. It has allowed us to keep up with technology, improve the level of Fire- Rescue - EMS service, improve safety and reduce the tax burden on the Township.

Pancake Breakfast will be at our station on May 18th. Meal includes sausage, eggs, drink and all the pancakes you can eat.

Chicken BBQ is always the last Sunday of July. Meals includes 1/2 chicken, potato salad, baked beans, roll and drink.

50/50 Raffle is held each month. Prizes each month are as follows 1-$250.00 winner, 1-$100.00 winner, 1-$70.00 winner and 2-$50.00 winners. Your number is placed back into the drawing each month. Each ticket has 60 chances to win. You can win more than once a year. Tickets are one annual $50.00 donation. Only 250 tickets are sold each year.
