The Margaretta Township Trustees met in regular session on
November 20, 2008 at 7 p.m.
Present were Mr. Pooch, Mr. Bias and Mr. Riesterer.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Bias to approve the
minutes, as presented, from the November 6, 2008 meeting. Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Bias moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to accept the
financial report submitted by Fiscal Officer, Mary Ann Lindsley. Vote: all
ayes.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Bias to approve and sign
warrants 8142-8169, submitted by the fiscal officer for payment. Vote: all
ayes.
Mr. Bill Walker gave an EMA update. Our new siren is not
in yet. He mentioned that Tim Riesterer and Tom Keimer are representatives
to the Weapons of Mass Destruction Advisory Board. They will have a December
4 meeting.
Mr. Dave Bodi was at the meeting. He wanted to know who to
call about repairs that are needed to the Maple Ave. Bridge. The trustees
said he should call Mr. Farshman from the county.
Chief Keimer gave his report. He mentioned that we are
having some issues with the Road Dept. phone that are being worked on. Chief
Keimer mentioned that Tim Rosetti had left the Fire Department to take a job
out of the area.
Mr. Bias moved, to pass Resolution 2008-15 to contract
with the City of Huron for dispatching for our emergency services to the
residents of Margaretta Township, effective 12/19/2008 for a cost of $50,000
annually (4166.67/mo). Mr. Pooch seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote: Mr.
Pooch – yes, Mr. Bias- yes and Mr. Riesterer- yes.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Bias to purchase 20 cones
needed for fire safety from Construction Equipment for a cost of $695. Vote:
all ayes.
Mr. Bias moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to accept the
resignation of Tim Rosetti from our Fire Department effective 11/21/2008.
Vote: all ayes.
The trustees decided to give the newspaper a press release
regarding our contract with The City of Huron for dispatching services.
The trustees discussed a severance package for our
dispatchers.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Bias to hire Dan Brake
Jr., Troy Brown, William Mohr and Dave Bohn as snow plow drivers for this
winter season at a rate of $12/hour, effective 11/20/2008. Vote: all ayes.
We received a letter from the County Finance Department
saying our salt bid was reduced by 25%.
Communications were gone over.
The Erie County Township Assoc Christmas meeting will be
held on December 19, 2008.
Mr. Bias moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to adjourn. Vote:
all ayes.
