Mr. Les hall was at the meeting with his concern about a political ad
that ran in the Sandusky Register on November 6, 2006. He did not feel that
the elected officials or appointed township employees should have endorsed a
candidate running for a political office. He wanted to know if we had a
policy about this type of thing. The trustees said we do not have a policy
and did not plan on passing one.
Mr. Matt Humphrey was at the meeting about the Whites Landing property on
Pleasant Ave. The trustees told him that the county said Pleasant Ave is not
a dedicated road. As far as building on it they must discuss this with our
zoning inspector and go through that department to see what can be done
there.
The trustees will put a letter together stating that Pleasant Ave. is a
private road.
Jim Neill – gave his Road/Cemetery report. One leaf drop off was held
with 1700 lbs. being collected. Our second drop off is this Saturday.
Jack Meyers from the county informed us that the Issue II project
submitted in 2005 has been granted. He said there was money left from Round
20. This is our Phase II Homegardner Rd. Project which was estimated at
$200,000, with us putting in one half. This project would be done in 2007.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to grant the vacation requests
of Tom Jones and Matt Studer for November 24, 2006. Vote: all ayes.
Jack Meyers told us that Homegardner Road from Rt. 101 to Maple Ave. may
have the water lines replace in the near future.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to purchase 6 new tires from
Max Tire for a cost of $1115.18. Vote: all ayes.
The trustees mentioned that Dale and Rita Fleweling said that our road
department did a good job cleaning the ditch on Parker Road.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to make the payments that were
made by John Gysan for the tile that was put on his property on Homegardner
Rd. be considered as payment in full. Vote: all ayes.
The Fiscal Officer mentioned that Frank Knerr’s partial disability was
approved by BWC for his 1999 injury. We should be getting payments from BWC
for his pay, under the wage agreement.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to purchase a single phase
unit, replacing our heating/air conditioning unit for $4660 through Windau
Heating. Vote: 2 ayes, Mr. Pooch abstained.
The Township Assoc. dinner will be held at the Vermilion Amvets on
December 14, 2006.
The trustees will have the Christmas dinner for employees on December 22,
2006 at noon.
The trustees will hold an organizational meeting on December 22, 2006 at
1 p.m.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to adjourn. Vote: all ayes.
