The Margaretta Township Trustees met in
regular session on May 4, 2006.
Present were Mr. Riesterer, Mr. Pooch
and Mr. Bias.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr.
Pooch to approve the minutes submitted by the Fiscal Officer for the April
20, 2006 meeting. Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Pooch moved to accept the
financial reports submitted by the Fiscal Officer, Mr. Riesterer seconded
the motion. Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr.
Pooch to approve and sign the warrants presented for payment by the Fiscal
Officer. Vote: all ayes.

Peter Schade and Karen Gerold from
the Erie County Health Dept. were at the meeting to go over their annual
report and discuss some other health department issue, like the pandemic
flu. They also mentioned that the health department will begin doing
plumbing inspections in September.
Sue Daugherty from Serving our
Seniors was at the meeting to present their annual report.
Jude Hammond from Margaretta Local
Schools was at the meeting to go over the impact House Bill 66 and the Cat
Tax could have on the township.
Keith Kreager our rural water
representative and resident of Crystal Rock was at the meeting. He mentioned
a drainage problem on Crystal Rock Road. Frank Knerr mentioned to Keith that
he has had complaints about junk vehicles and that Keith may want to let the
people know that Frank will be addressing the issue.
Frank Knerr gave a zoning update on
Quarry Lakes. He said they have nothing on Fedderson’s yet, but that North
Coast Cancer should be getting their permits soon.
The issue of damage done by Parker
Excavating was discussed. They are going to fix any damage he did and
Columbia Gas is to fix damage done by them.
There was one proposal submitted for
the demolition of 105 Newberry.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr.
Pooch to award the demolition and reseeding of 105 Newberry, Sandusky, Ohio
to Castalia Trenching as outlined in their proposal for a cost of
$11,372.00. Vote: all ayes.
The trustees asked that a notice be
sent to the owners of the property and giving them until June 1, 2006 to
remove anything they may want from the property.
Jim Neill- Road Report: He mentioned
that he needed his summer help to start. He mentioned that the price of
asphalt keeps rising. Road repairs for this year were discussed.
Our tire collection and appliance
drop off is scheduled for June 3, 2006. Jim will advertise for this.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr.
Pooch to rehire Rob Gysan and Brett McCullough for part time summer help,
with Rob Gysan to make $6.75/hr and Brett McCullough to make $7.00/hr. The
pay rate to be effective with the April 29, 2006 pay period. Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr.
Riesterer to hire Courtney Gamez at a rate of $7.00/hr for part time help in
the cemetery office, effective May 8, 2006. Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr.
Pooch to redo the box and frame on the MT3 at a cost not to exceed $1100.00.
Vote: all ayes.
Chief Keimer gave his report. He
mentioned that Robert Adams is not longer with the fire department. He was
on probation and is not longer with us.
He mentioned having a contract with
PCSO for the collection of EMS bills over 90 days old. They would charge 25%
of what they collect.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr.
Pooch to accept the resignation of Mike Pflieger, effective May 4, 2006 from
the fire department. Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr.
Riesterer to enter into an agreement with PCSO for the collection of EMS
bill over 90 days old, with the fee to be 25% of the collected amounts.
Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr.
Pooch to pay EMA $1225.00 for the additional expenses for the installation
of sirens. Vote: all ayes.
Misc. correspondence was gone over.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr.
Pooch to adjourn. Vote: all ayes.
