The Margaretta Township Trustees met on April 5, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. Present
were Mr. Bias, Mr. Riesterer and Mr. Pooch.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Bias to go into executive session
with the Trustees, Fiscal Officer and Legal Council to discuss personnel.
Roll Call Vote: Mr. Bias – yes, Mr. Riesterer- yes and Mr. Pooch – yes.
Mr. Bias moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to return to regular session.
Roll Call Vote: Mr. Bias –yes, Mr. Riesterer – yes, and Mr. Pooch –yes.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Bias to approve the minutes from the
March 22, 2007 meeting, as presented. Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Bias moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to accept the financial reports
submitted by Fiscal Officer Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Bias to approve and sign warrants
6525-6572, submitted for payment by the Fiscal Officer. Vote: all ayes.
Kevin Boesch from 4701 Lima Sandusky Rd was at the meeting to check on
some zoning issues with his neighbor. When Tom Johnson came into the meeting
he explained that the property on Lima Sandusky Rd is being taken care of.
The lady there said that the hole would be filled within 2 weeks.
Keith Kreager from Crystal Rock asked about multi family zoning in
Crystal Rock. He also mentioned that there is someone running a business in
a barn (auto repair). The trustees told Tom Johnson to check it out since
the area is zoned residential. Mr. Kreager also mentioned the 2 catch basins
that the township installed in Crystal Rock. He feels that another on is
needed in front of Keno’s house. Jim Neill said that we did not intend to
put any more catch basins in. He said we took care of our roads with the
catch basins that were installed.
Mr. Kreager mentioned that the house that burned on Bellevue and Maple
(Longoria’s) had not been secured yet. Keith said he felt it should be
boarded up. The trustees told Keith that it was up to the owner to make sure
the house was secured. Tom Johnson said that our fire department had made
sure the house was secure after the fire. He will check it out.
Mr. Kreager mentioned that he had been at the state convention for rural
water. He mentioned that the state was cutting their budget for technical
and training assistance. He wants people to write our congressmen with their
concerns about the cuts.
Dave Bodi asked about the summit meeting that he read about in the
newspaper. Tim Riesterer said he had attended the meeting. They would like
to see everyone work together to bring in new development.
Dave also asked Jim Neill about checking the ditch by his house and
possibly cleaning it out.
Jim Neill gave his report. He said that the road has been cut into the
new section of the cemetery.
The trustees discussed Sand Hill Cemetery with Jim. Also the trustees
mentioned getting some signs for Industrial Park for North Coast Cancer.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Bias to approve the following
vacation requests:
Tom Jones for April 12, 2007, Matt Studer for July 23, 2007 through July
27, 2007 and for Jim Neill for June 25, 2007 through June 29, 2007. Vote:
all ayes.
The trustees discussed setting up an insurance committee with
representatives from Fire Department and Road Department along with a
Trustee.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Bias to remove Frank Knerr from paid
administrative leave and to place him on unpaid leave effective 4/5/2007.
Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Bias moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to remove Kim Knerr from paid
administrative leave and place her on unpaid leave effective 4/5/2007. Vote:
all ayes.
Tom Johnson gave a zoning report. He said he would like to get Stonegate
dropped. It is being done a little at a time. Tom also mentioned that some
of the businesses wanted to know why SR 101 and SR 2 are not listed as Cedar
Point exits.
Communications were gone over.
Our pancake breakfast is set for May 6, 2007.
Fire Department open house is set for April 28, 2007 from 1 p.m. to 4
p.m.
Mr. Bias moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to adjourn. Vote: all ayes.
