The Margaretta Township Trustees met in regular session on
February 19, 2009 at 7 p.m.
Present were Mr. Riesterer, Mr. Pooch and Mr. Bias.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to approve the
minutes from the February 12, 2009 meeting, as presented by the Fiscal
Officer. Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to approve and
sign warrants 8422-8440 that were presented by Fiscal Officer for payment.
Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to accept the
financial reports submitted by the Fiscal Officer. Vote: all ayes.
Mr. Brent Gardner from Gardner Insurance was at our
meeting to review our township property and liability insurance. Each
department needs to go over the list of its property to be sure we are up to
date on the insurance.
Mr. Mike Karniotis from the Job Store was at our meeting
to explain how they can help with several things including: unemployment,
child support, doing resumes ( in cases of lay offs) and several ways they
may be able to help the township.
Chief Keimer gave his Fire report. Tom said that we did
not get our FEMA Grant and that we are in need of turn out gear. He said it
could cost anywhere from $1500 -$1950 per set for the turn out gear and that
we need up to 17 sets.
Chief Keimer mentioned that the City of Sandusky had a
used server that we can have. Kevin Dwight is going to go look at it to see
if it will work for us.
There was some discussion on the record retention. Chief
Keimer mentioned that SS Industries offer a document scanning. They will put
the information on CD”s for you. He was not sure of the cost.
Tom is in the process of getting quotes to go through
Buckeye Cable for all our phones.
Trustee Tim Riesterer said we need to get our record
retention policy set before we will be able to do anything, but that it
wouldn’t hurt to check out the cost of scanning our items.
The properties in Crystal Rock have been demolished by
Hula Construction.
The trustees discussed our salt bid. They thought we might
like to split our bid between the state and the county for next years salt
and see how the prices go.
Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to request 200T
of road salt through the State Bid. Vote: all ayes.
The trustees said that we replaced 90ft of tile on
Homegardner that broke when we tried to jet vac it.
The Riedy Ditch clean up should be starting anytime.
Our mail box policy was discussed and the following motion
was made:
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer stating that
the township will replace mailboxes, that we damage doing snow plowing, with
a US Postal Service standard mail box or we will reimburse them up to $25,
for a mailbox they replace themselves, after the submission of an original
receipt for their purchase of a mailbox. Vote: all ayes.
Communications were gone over.
Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to adjourn.
Vote: all ayes.
