Meeting Minutes

 

The Margaretta Township Trustees met in regular session on January 5, 2006 at 7 p.m. Present were Mr. Bias, Mr. Pooch and Mr. Riesterer.

Mr. Pooch moved, seconded by Mr. Riesterer to approve the minutes, as presented by the fiscal officer, for the December 29, 2005 organizational meeting. Vote: all ayes.

Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to accept the financial reports presented by the fiscal officer. Vote: all ayes.

The following warrants were presented for the trustee’s approval and signatures since our last meeting. They were approved and signed.

Keith Kreager was at the meeting. Keith wanted to know about some houses in Crystal Rock that were a mess, the Gibson house on Clyde & Maple, and a house on Bellevue by the vacant lot. The trustees said that Terry Griffith has been out on leave and nothing had been done yet.

Jim Neill gave his road and cemetery report.

The trustees agreed on a policy on handling wood that we cut on the road side. They also had a ditch petition for the D Development that they will be taking around the neighborhood for signatures.

Mary Ann asked Jim Neill and Tom Keimer to check the clothing allowances for 2005 and let her know if anyone went over and how this was being handled.

Tom Keimer- gave his fire report. Tom mentioned that Firelands Hospital is going to start billing us for supplies used. He said that Gwinner and Dwight are off probation and should move to Class C Firefighter. Tom gave the trustees his final report for 2005.

He said we will not be getting a FEMA grant this year.

Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to take Steve Gwinner and Kevin Dwight off probation and move them to Class C Firefighter. Vote: all ayes.

The trustees decided to hold our first meeting of February on the 9th at 7 p.m. instead of February 2.

The trustees discussed upcoming levies and what some of our options are.

Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to appoint Tom Johnson as the zoning inspector effective 1/1/2006 at the pay rate of $500/month. Voice vote: all ayes.

Several pieces of correspondence were gone over.

Mr. Riesterer moved, seconded by Mr. Pooch to adjourn. Vote: all ayes.

The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
